PRT Exam: - Primary Teacher Exam
Primary Teacher Exam conducted by most of the states in India, for the recruitment of graduate teacher in state govt. schools.
For the post of Primary Teacher, Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) pass candidates (Paper-I) with professional qualification of Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) or Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) are eligible to apply. The candidates having professional qualification of B.Ed or Special B.Ed are not eligible to apply for the post of Primary Teacher.

Primary Teacher Age Limit:
Candidates age should be Not exceeding 30 years. For Age Relaxation details, Candidates can refer to the Official website Notification.

PRT Education Qualification:
Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2- years Diploma in elementary education (by whatever name known) from a recognized Board.
Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Must have passed Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi or English as a subject at Secondary Level.

Primary/ Nursery Teacher Syllabus
(i) General Awareness:
Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. The questions will be designed to test knowledge of Current Events and of such matter of everyday observation as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organizations / Institutions etc.

(ii) General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability:
The syllabus of General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship, concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

(iii) Arithmetical & Numerical Ability :
The test of Arithmetical and Numerical Abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs etc.

(iv) Hindi Language & Comprehension and English Language & Comprehension:
In addition to the testing of candidate’s understanding and comprehension of the English and Hindi Languages, questions on its Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage etc. would also be covered.

SECTION B (Applicable only for one Tier Technical only): Post specific subject related questions:
Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions on the subject concerned as per the qualification prescribed in the Recruitment Rules for the post.

Tips And Strategies For PRT Exam
Try to gauge your level: Sit back and reflect that where are you in the exam preparations. What are your needs? Where you are lacking behind? How much will you be able to cover etc. This reflection will help you in planning for further.

Watch out syllabus and pattern: Look for the pattern of the paper and the whole syllabus in detail. This will help you identify what topics you already know what you need to study deeply. This will also work as a checklist one you start preparing.

Planning: Once you have reflected upon your needs and identified the syllabus and areas to work upon you must lay out the plan. Plan your daily routine and fix the time to study for subjects. Find time for each and every subject simultaneously so that you do not get bored after studying one subject again and again.

Focus on Child Development & Pedagogy: Child Development and Pedagogy is the most important subject of PRT exam and pedagogy area of all the subject is somewhat guided by this only so try to work on this subject and make it strong. Also try to understand the concept thoroughly and understand the basic premises of Child Development and Pedagogy, this way you will be able to answer the questions more accurately.

Study NCF 2005 and NCERT textbooks:
Studying NCF 2005 will give clarity about the ideas of learning and also it will guide you for the pedagogies of different subjects. NCERT textbook will be helpful for paper II as the content area is entirely from NCERT only.
Solve practice papers and previous year papers: Practicing previous year papers will get you the feel and also you will be able to check your performance. While practice keep a check on time and that ensure that your time is managed accordingly.

PRT Exam Day Instructions
Guidelines which have to be followed during PRT examination are listed below. Candidates must carefully go through them before sitting for TGT :
A. The test will start exactly at the time mentioned on Admit Card.
B. Candidate will be asked to open the seal of the Test Booklet five minutes before the commencement of paper.
C. Check carefully that Test Booklet Code printed on Side 2 of OMR Sheet is same as printed on Test Booklet.
D. Immediately report the matter to invigilator for replacement of both the Test Booklet and OMR Sheet in the case of any discrepancy.
E. During the examination, the invigilator will check the admit card to verify the identity of a candidate.
F. Candidates must use ballpoint pen (Blue/Black) only. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited and will be rejected.
G. Candidates will mark the answers on the OMR sheet only after the announcement of the invigilator.
